Policies & Client Guidelines

At Top Dog Mobile Grooming, we believe in transparency, professionalism, and providing every pet with a safe and positive grooming experience. To keep things clear and fair for everyone, please take a moment to review our policies before booking.

Appointment & Scheduling

Appointments may be booked by phone, text, or online. Appointment reminders will be sent before your scheduled service. Please allow a 30-60 minute arrival window, as travel times and the needs of the pet ahead of you can affect scheduling.

Cancellations and Rescheduling

A 24-hour notice is required for all cancellations and reschedules. Same-day cancellations or no-shows may result in a cancellation fee up to the full service cost. A non-refundable deposit will be required for future bookings. Multiple missed appointments may require prepayment.

 Pricing and Payments

Payment is due at the time of service. We accept cash, card, and digital payments. Grooming rates are based on breed, size, coat condition, and style. Additional fees may apply for fleas & ticks, heavy matting/de-matting, and special handling (for pets requiring extra time due to behavior or temperament). If a pet is deemed too aggressive to groom upon arrival, a minimum $50 trip fee will apply.

Pet Health and Safety

Pets must be current on rabies vaccination; proof of certificate may be required. We can’t accept pets for grooming that have contagious illnesses or open wounds. If a pet becomes overly stressed or aggressive, grooming may be paused or stopped for safety. Senior and special-needs pets are always handled with extra care, though adjustments to grooming may be necessary for their comfort. In the event of an emergency, in your absence, you authorize us to contact the nearest veterinarian and authorize the vet to treat your pet as necessary at your expense.

Grooming Expectations

Severe matting may require a short clip to ensure your pet’s comfort and skin health. Grooming outcomes depend on coat condition, temperament, and grooming history. Although rare, minor irritations like clipper marks, redness, or stress reactions can occasionally occur. We encourage you to discuss any past reactions your pet has experienced and any concerns you may have.

Client Responsibilities

Please walk your dog prior to the appointment. A safe, legal, and accessible parking area is required for our mobile salon. Be sure to inform us of any health issues, behavioral concerns, or allergies prior to your appointment, so we can take the best approach for your pet’s comfort and safety.

Weather and Travel

Extreme weather conditions may require rescheduling. Traffic or unexpected events may cause arrival delays — we will notify you promptly. Service is available within a 30-mile radius of our address. We also offer an extended coverage area, up to an additional 20 miles, at a rate of $2 per mile ($1 per mile, round trip). We currently don’t service areas greater than 50 miles from our address.

Liability and Consent

While every precaution is taken, Top Dog Mobile Grooming LLC is not liable for pre-existing conditions, skin/coat sensitivities, or grooming-related reactions beyond our control. By booking, you acknowledge consent for grooming services and acceptance of these policies. Photos or videos of pets may be used for marketing or educational purposes unless you request otherwise.

Satisfaction Guarantee

If you are not satisfied with your pet’s grooming, please contact us within 24 hours. While refunds are not guaranteed, adjustments or re-dos may be offered at our discretion.
